Reopening of Kah-Nee-Ta Village in 2023

Exciting news was announced by the Kah-Nee-Ta Resort Enterprise in a February press release about their plans to partner with Mt. Hood Skibowl to reopen the Kah-Nee-Ta Village in 2023.

The Village was originally opened in the 1960s as a unique resort experience, offering a wide variety of recreational activities and the opportunity to soak in the hot springs that run along the Warm Springs River.

The Confederated Tribes of The Warm Springs Reservation (CTWS) Tribal Council approved an investment of $4.58 million to repair and expand the Village from the Tribes’ American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, with an additional $1.5 million going towards improving the local wastewater system. The goal of the project is to not only bring back Kah-Nee-Ta Village as a destination, but also to invest in the Natural Mineral Water Hot Springs present on the site to draw in visitors and educate them on the Reservation’s culture.

Mt. Hood Skibowl, which dates back to 1928, is working to develop a long term plan in collaboration with the Warm Springs Economic Development Corporation to invest in the job opportunities and economic revitalization the Kah-Nee-Ta village reopening could bring to the Warm Springs Reservation.

Keep your eye out for more news concerning the reopening of Kah-Nee-Ta Village in the coming months, and get ready to plan your trip to soak in the Hot Springs in 2023!
