Meet the NEW Dentists at Deschutes Rim Health Clinic
Dr. Alex Petersen D.M.D. and his wife, Dr. Austen Petersen D.M.D. are the new Dentists at Deschutes Rim Health Clinic. They graduated together from Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry in June of 2022. They got married the following September and started working for the clinic beginning in early October 2022. Since the end of April 2023, the dental clinic has moved next door, into the brand-new Deschutes Rim Health Clinic Building.
Dr. Alex and Dr. Austen see all patients of all ages, from kids to adults to senior citizens. Their dental services include routine oral care, such as exams, cleanings, and x-rays, as well as treatment for gum disease, bone disease of the mouth (periodontitis), treatment for dental decay (fillings, crowns, bridges, etc.), and simple-case extractions. They also provide several Denture and Partial Denture services.
Dr. Alex grew up in Gresham, Or. and has extended family in Maupin, where he spent many of his summers growing up, and considered Maupin his second home. He met Dr. Austen in Dental School and introduced her to the Maupin area early in their relationship. They both enjoyed the slower pace and beautiful countryside and made time to visit during Dental School. Since moving here, both have been excited to become full-time members of this community - whether it be working together in the Dental clinic or rafting, fishing, or hiking around the beautiful Deschutes River area.
Dr. Austen grew up near Vancouver, Washington before moving to Oregon city, Oregon in 2016. Dr. Austen and Dr. Alex have been loving their newfound home here and have enjoyed serving the community with the rest of the Deschutes Rim Health Clinic team. Their goal is to help everyone that walks in the clinic doors to increase personal wellness, focusing on whole body health from an oral care perspective.
The Dental Clinic is open Monday - Thursday from 8am to 5pm (closed for lunch Noon-1pm)
